One pot tuna penne pasta

Here's another pasta dish that'd certainly go well with any occassion. All it needs is a few well known items from the grocery store and one pot and it's something you don't have to go over the top with.

Easy, fast, convenient, and delicious!

Get the pot hot and fry some onions and garlic.
Now, usually, we would put the garlic in first. I would do that, every now and then, but it would depend on what I'm cooking. Overheating or overcooking garlic would make it crisp up and bitter. I wouldn't want the garlic to overpower this particular dish, so I started sautéeing the onions first as it cooks a bit longer.

I then added in some "fresh" canned tuna: one small can of spicy tuna and another big normal one.

Canned mushrooms are quite great, just make sure you grab the correct one so you don't have to do a lot of chopping. Open one up and pour EVERYTHING. Yes. Including its juices.

Grab some cheddar cheese and grate that baby. I love sharp cheddar. It gives the dish that oomph and this is where we'll get the saltiness.

I then popped open a can of milk, careful to only add the first half of what's in the can. I wanted to add in the rest when it's simmering. I didn't want to drown the pasta so much. The milk would also be added with cream later on to get that thick, gooey, cheesy texture (which would also come from some grated "quickmelt" cheese).

This dish wouldn't be complete without the main ingredient: THE PASTA. I used penne for this one, though rigatoni would also be a good substitute. It's quite a good pasta to serve with thick creamy or tomate-based sauces as it holds the sauce well.

Know when and where pasta goes well here. This site explains the different kind of pasta, what sauces work well with it, and which dishes it would go excellent with.

Sometimes, cooking well doesn't mean we have to cook fancy. Sometimes, cooking well is achieved when we put it all in one pot.
